Steps VSS Visual Source Safe .net By Praveen P.R

Step to Manage VSS

1.Create folder for VSS this will act as Server Database.
2.Make  this folder shared .So to access for client System.
2.Now take-->Microsoft Visual SourceSafe Administration(Programs->Microsoft Visual SourceSafe-->)
3 Create new database
   Menu File-->New DataBase...

4.Select Location of Database folder(see step 1.. )
5.Select Radio button Lock  Mobify unlock mode.*
6.Create User
 Menu User -->Add user
7.Now Take  Microsoft Visual SourceSafe(Programs->Microsoft Visual SourceSafe..)
8.Login with User/Password we createrd earlier
9.Create Project e.g say [NewProject]
File-->CreateProject
10.Now add the Project which we want to add to source safe
Drage the project folder to newly created  [NewProject] (treeview)
11.Select Recursive checkbox in this process...
12.Now set working folder
File..>Set Working Folder
Point it to our project file location
13.Now right click Project [NewProject](treeview)
and click Get Latest version
14.Tick Recusive and Build Tree CheckBox

15.Now take Microsoft Visual Studio open your project [NewProject]
login with user we created earlier
16.Goto Tools menu -->Options-->Source Control
in ComboBox select  Microsoft Visual Source Safe
17.Now File menu -->Change Source Control-->Click Bind

18.Now in client computer
19. Add a folder Copy the projet [NewProject]
20. Now Take  Microsoft Visual Studio open your project [NewProject]
21.Login with  user name passord we created while locating to our VSS database server loction
in other system (See Step 1)
22.Now take Solution Explorer and get latest version by right clicking.
